Kudu

Say it once. It's already written.

Kudu is private voice dictation for Mac, Windows and Linux that turns your voice into clean, formatted writing in any app. Hold a key, speak naturally, even messily with ums, repeats and corrections, and let go, and Kudu writes what you meant. It formats text for the app you're in, so you get mentions in Slack, lists in Notes, proper code in your editor and your own slang with friends. Kudu learns your words, offers a command mode, snippets, a style for every app, a custom shortcut, meeting notes and insights into how much you've written. Speaking at around 150 words a minute is about three times faster than typing, and on an M-series Mac the text typically appears about 0.3 seconds after you let go. Everything is transcribed on your computer with no account, no cloud, no analytics and no telemetry, and it works offline once set up. Key Features: - Hold to Talk: hold a key, speak and let go to write in any app - Clean Formatting: removes filler words and fixes corrections automatically - App-Aware Styles: mentions, lists, code and casual tone where they fit - Meeting Notes and Snippets: extra tools for everyday writing - Fully On-Device: no account, no cloud and works offline Kudu is a fast, private way to write with your voice across Mac, Windows and Linux, completely free and open source under the MIT license.
