Hold Option-Space in any app and just talk, and BetterWispr drops the ums and false starts, spells names your way and writes in the style you set for each app, typing clean text right where your cursor is. Speech is transcribed on your Mac by built-in models from Apple Speech, Parakeet and Whisper, covering English, Japanese and 25 European languages, with no account and no cloud fallback, and models work offline after a one-time download. You can also choose your own Sarvam AI, Smallest AI or OpenAI-compatible API. Beyond dictation, it includes a meeting notetaker that turns conversations into notes and action items, plus insights into how you use it.
