Barney Kube

Big cluster energy. Tiny app footprint.

Barney Kube is a native macOS Kubernetes client from Cortex Labs in a 9 MB download. It reads your kubeconfig and authenticates just like kubectl, supporting client certificates, tokens and exec plugins for EKS, GKE and AKS, and re-authenticates on its own when cloud tokens expire so long sessions never break. It streams live watch updates for pods, deployments and other resources, opens a real terminal into containers, sets up port-forwarding and shows logs and resource details side by side. While Electron-based cluster tools can use 500 MB to a gigabyte of memory, Barney idles in tens of megabytes and stays fast even on a busy laptop. Key Features: - Tiny Footprint: 9 MB download that idles in tens of megabytes - kubectl-Grade Auth: certs, tokens and exec plugins for EKS, GKE and AKS - Live Watch Streams: real-time updates for cluster resources - Real Terminal and Port-Forward: shell into containers and forward ports - Free and Native: built for macOS Barney Kube is a lightweight, free Kubernetes client that keeps cluster work fast on the Mac.
